Web3 · Service DAO and on-chain governance development

DAO development: governance tokens and voting, Governor contracts with timelocks, Snapshot voting, Safe treasuries, delegation and proposal tooling.

In short

A DAO (decentralized autonomous organisation) is a group that makes decisions and controls a treasury through on-chain rules instead of a single administrator. Members propose changes, vote with tokens or other credentials, and approved actions execute automatically after a delay. The engineering challenge is a process that is hard to capture or attack while still letting the organisation act.

When you need it

Signs this is the right service

  • Control of a protocol is moving from a founding team to its community.
  • A treasury must be spent only with collective approval.
  • You want votes off-chain for cost, with results executed on-chain.
  • An existing governance setup is exposed to vote buying or flash-loan attacks.
What's included

What you get

Voting power

Governance tokens with delegation and snapshots, so votes are counted from balances at a fixed block — not borrowed for one transaction.

Governor and timelock

OpenZeppelin Governor-based contracts with quorum, thresholds and a timelock so members can react before changes take effect.

Off-chain voting

Snapshot spaces for gas-free voting, with execution through a multisig or an on-chain module.

Treasury

Safe multisig treasuries with spending limits, roles and transparent reporting.

Proposal tooling

Interfaces to draft, discuss, simulate and track proposals from idea to execution.

How we deliver it

The process

  1. 01

    Design the process

Who can propose, who votes, what quorum is needed and how long each step takes.

  2. 02

    Attack the design

Vote buying, flash-loan voting, low-turnout capture and malicious proposals considered before code.

  3. 03

    Build and simulate

Contracts and tooling tested with simulated proposals, including hostile ones.

  4. 04

    Hand over gradually

Control moves to the community in stages, with emergency powers that expire.

Questions

DAO development: common questions

On-chain or off-chain voting?

Off-chain voting such as Snapshot is free for voters but needs trusted execution. On-chain voting executes automatically but costs gas. Many DAOs vote off-chain and execute through a multisig or a dedicated module.

How do you prevent flash-loan voting?

By counting voting power from a snapshot taken before the proposal, so tokens borrowed for one transaction carry no votes.

Do you set up the legal entity?

No. Many DAOs use a legal wrapper, and that is work for lawyers. We build the on-chain side to match the structure they define.

What does the timelock do?

It delays execution of an approved proposal, giving members time to review it and exit if they disagree.
